Can Somebody Have Copyright Of A Photo That I Am The Only Person In That Photo?
At our graduation ceremony, a professional photographer took photos of me and all of the students while being awarded with a certificate. Does he have the copyright of images of me? Can he distribute these photos?
P.S: This country has no copyright law, at least for foreign products. (TRNC)
I’m not familiar with Turkish-Cypriot law, but the general rule of copyright is that the copyright belongs to the photographer, not the subject.

A photograph is the property of the person that took it, not the person that is the subject of the photo.
The photographer owns the copyright, not the subject in the photograph. You have no rights to it. He can sell it and/or distribute it as he pleases.
That’s how it works, yes. The artist is the one who takes the photo, not the subject.
Yes, this is common.
