What’s A Good Autofocus Digital Camera For Sports Photography?

My husband wants to take pictures at our sons’ baseball and soccer games – he wants to be able to point and shoot. We have a My husband wants to take pictures at our sons’ baseball and soccer games – he wants to be able to point and shoot. We have a Canon PowerShot Elph and we can get pretty decent pics but the shutter lag is a pain. And since it’s 4 years old I’m guessing there is some better technology now….What’s a step up for us in the digital world but not into SLRs?

Photographers: This Camera Any Good?

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?…

I was thinkin’ about buying this camera soon since it’s tax time and all coming up…I had a Sony Cybershot (lower end model) and it served my purposes, but now I’m working as a photojournalist and after using their staff camera I find the P&S a little limiting (plus the LCD broke!). I figured it was time to upgrade.
PS I know the camera I want is also P&S, but I simply want a higher quality bang for my buck without spending several thousand dollars for an SLR. Any knowledge on this model? Good? Horrible? My fiance just got a canon rebel and I assume it’s similar (if not slightly more constricting). Feedback appreciated!

Photographers Only…i Need Help On Purchasing A Camera.?

Okay so I really want to start my own small time business. Nothing big, but I want to atleast give it a try. I do ALOT of photoshopping and things like that also. So I was wondering what would be the best camera for me to purchase. I took 2 different Photography classes during my senior year of high school so I know a very limited amount about cameras. We worked more on film cameras and film developing process insted of spending much time on Digital. So I was wondering if any one would help. I know a bit about shutter speeds, aperture, ISO equivalent, and Image resolution etc..etc. I was wondering what is a good ISO and shutter speed for nearly studio quality? How much megapixels do I really need? I narrowed my choices down to just two cameras.
My budget is at a $350 max. Here are the two cameras.http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?…http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?…

What Do I Need To Attach To A Camera To Make Umbrella Lights Go Off? Are All Umbrellas The Same? Home Studio?

So I am wanting to surprise a friend of mine with a basic home studio and I don’t know very much about what is needed to do this.
What add on would I need to put on the camera to make the umbrella lights go off? (It is an Olympus Evolt SLR)
Is it better to get umbrellas that are activated without wires?
Here is an umbrella set I am considering (not to bid on this auction, but maybe something similar): http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-PHOTO-STUDIO-FLA…
If I were to buy umbrellas similar to these, and had an add on to the camera, as well as a backdrop…is there anything else really needed for a basic home studio? Any links for products and suggestions would be so appreciated!
Please experienced photographers help!

Good Camera?

I am not officially a pro photographer, but I am pretty savvy with cameras and I am good. I’m in college so I am not looking to buy a camera over $1,000. I have looked at the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTI and Nikon D60 online, but I didn’t really see any reviews on these products. I want one that takes great shots – anything from macro to landscape to portrait. What opinions do you have on these cameras? What are their strong points and weaknesses? Is there a better model out there for under $1,000? I want more than 10 MP. I don’t really want a heavy model. I want one that isn’t confusing.
