Has Anyone Used Still Shot2 Lighting Equipment.?
I am a armature photographer wanting to buy lighting equipment and other accessories. Not wanting to spend a lot of money, but wanting something that will do the job. I was just wondering what you thought about this company and there products? Would you recommend them or not. and why?http://www.stillshot2.com/Shopping.idc?P…
What Recommendations Do You Have For Basic Studio Lighting?
I am a relatively new amature photographer that wants to purchase fairly portable lighitng for portraiture, product work, and large group photos. I will have occasional need for posed sports portraits. I’m looking for reliable medium quality equipment that I can travel (primarily by car) that’s affordable and will support me as I move into more serious photography (portraiture). I plan to start with a basic set of 3 units (main, fill, and hair or backdrop) and the set should be flexible that at least 2 of the units can play any role needed in the shoot. Kits are also acceptable. I DO NOT need battery based equipment, but a battery option would be a bonus.

Photographing Still Life, Background Material And Lighting?
My mom has an extensive tea cup and saucer collection, many of which were painted by family members. I would like to take some pictures to document them.
I have a digital camera (Nikon Coolpix) and a tripod. I also have a table I can use, what sort of material would be good to sit the tea cups and saucers on? A dark fabric? Some sort of paper?
The tea cups come in a wide range of colors, but I was thinking a dark background would work best. I was thinking a piece of fabric as the background that drapes over the table and the tea cups on it? Would this be a logical choice?
I would like to not use my flash if possible, because of the glare. I took a couple of test shots and a number of them came out with a flash white spot (I am sure it has a proper name) on them. Is there a cheap lighting source that would fix this problem?
Thank you very much.
