As a bride-to-be, I know that most wedding photographers charge at LEAST $2,000, and it only goes up from there. Are there any wedding photographers out there who can tell me how much of that they actually pocket? (Vs how much goes towards product production or other expenses). Thanks.

My photographer friend and I just got offered an ad deal for a new product. He would take the pics and I would model, and the images would be used in magazines, promotional stuff and even go to the USA. Neither of us have a clue about what to expect as it is a first paid gig for both of us. I know it depends on the product, but how much should we expect to be paid? And how should we be paid? How does it generally work? Thanks!

i’m seventeen, and i’ve had about two years of learning about photography independently. i currently work as a part-time photographer for commercial products for a small company, and shoot with a canon 40D (though for a long time i only used a powershot!)
i’ve done a lot of journalistic shots for the school paper, and i’m quite known for having a very good photographic eye around here. i mostly focus on artistic photography, but there is a potential for me to photograph some local (but quite large) indoor events soon. i was thinking of $20-40/hr? i have no idea if that’s too much or too little.

Maybe just one or two evenings a week,for sculpture or photographs, just for the experience…and beer money!

I have several products I need that I want a white background on. I do not have the time to do it myself. How much will it cost to get 5 of y products the size of a football to be places against a white background. Taking the picture with posterboard or against a white wall does not seem to work. I you know of an photographers please list them and their price.
