I am a novice photographer (around 1 1/2-2 years) and have been slowly teaching myself about it. I have just upgraded cameras and am in the market for a program to edit photos. I’m looking to only change images in ways I could in a darkroom( I’ve never worked with film, digital already had 35mm beat when I got in). I realize that with some of the features present in photoshop, it may be more than I need. Any photographers out there that can offer some advice. If it makes a difference I can get photoshop very cheap with academic discounts. My current computer is a Macbook Pro 17in screen so I don’t think I’ll have trouble running any programs.

I know PhotoShop can remove reflections but do they really do it for every photo and every object in the shot? I use PhotoShop for web design. Some catalogs have so many reflective objects it seems like an enormous task.

I just got a new Nikon D60 with a 18-55mm lens for Christmas. I’m using it at my job to take photos (amateur) of our products. We have two lamps with 250V bulbs and my office has florescent lighting. What are the best settings for taking a photo of a gray controller (our product)? Please be very detailed. I am very new at this. I do not have the money to afford another lens and this one seems to work great. I just need to know the settings on the camera. There are so many to choose from…so I just need the consult of a professional photographer. Thanks in advance!

yknow, a product you really like? i think mine would be for Canon digital cameras and i would be the artsy photographer in it.

i’m an amateur photographer but photography is going to be my career so i need serious software. i am getting into wedding photography and i just completed my first wedding job so, with the money from that, i am buying my first adobe product so i need help deciding.
i do portraiture, band promo shots, plenty of low light work, and pretty much anything else.
