Normally I could care less what celebrities,use buy,tell us to use,whatever. But now that Nikon is using Ashton Kutcher in their ads I have eliminated Nikon from all future camera purchases. With all the qualified photographers out there, such as war photographers and others that have literally risked their lives to get the shot I feel that any camera company that would hire a celebrity,especially one that is so goofy, has lost the ability to make a decent product and is trying to make us play follow the leader with him as the leader. lol

I am making contact with a magazine and curious if I should have some sort of document expressing my ownership of the photograph/s and allowing use of them? Would a document like this be binding? My main concern is for example if I allow Time Life to use my photograph they can not allow another magazine or subsidiary use them and at all times I have full rights of the images.

I’ve recently opened a café press store. I haven’t yet added any images or products. From what I’ve seen in other stores on café press, most are comprised of graphics. Has anyone out there had any experience selling photography? I’d love to hear your experiences, good or bad.

I have to get a portfolio ready to apply to school. It is nearly impossible to draw everything from real life, and it’s always easier to have some kind of a reference. Those days we can find really good photos on the internet. However, when I find a picture I really like and can relate to, and would like to draw, I don’t know if it’s ok to sign my name at the bottom and claim it as mine, when i “copied” someone else’s artwork! What’s your opinion? And how can I create good quality artwork without real reference?

the photo is picasso drawing a centaur/bull in the air with a light pen or flashlight. i know the photo was taken in 1967 but i don’t know when it was published in life. if anyone out there can help i would be very appreciative. thanks for your help.
