Do Wedding Photographers Have The Copyright On The Pictures They Take?
This is the question I asked yesterday, and it seems I upset a few photographers out there. Sorry about that, but it seems to me that £800 for 1 hours work, then to supply discs with 1 copy of each picture, was a bit over the top. If I commission an artist to paint my portrait, I would not expect him to take the finished product home with him and charge me extra for the occasional look. My son and his wife only wanted someone with “A good eye” to make sure the pics were a good standard. They obviously misunderstood the contract that they would have to pay for additional copies rather than being able to copy them themselves. I am in the wrong business. Thank you for all the interesting replies I received. I normally would not condone trying to bypass the security on the disc to make illegal copies, but £800 seemed a bit of a rip off. Once again, apologies to all you photographers that were offended.
Wedding Picture Paper Quality?
I received my wedding photos that I paid $2000 for and I my contract with the wedding photographer I was promised high quality professional paper. On the back of the pictures it says kodak professional paper and it has a typed line for a copyright. I don’t think the paper is high quality. I’ve had pictures taken at sears and they use the same paper, the backs of the pictures are the same and for sears I pay $10 a sheet, so I think my photographer is being cheap and giving me low quality product. Does anyone know the standards for picture paper quality in NY for wedding pictures when you were charged and promised high quality service and product for $2000? I could have recieved the same product from sears for $3000
Do People Prefer B&w Or Color Wedding Photographs? If B&w, Are Thy Good Enough From Digital Photographers?
I am doing some research about Black and White Photography, and thought this is a good place to start. I have been under the impression that today digital wedding photographers really do not pay as much attention to final product, and instead give their customer photographs straight from their camera, and let the customer do with the photographs whatever they choose. Do you other people think the same way?
I am doing research for a new article which I will be publishing on wiki.worldonpaper.com
Thanks All.
I’m Shadowing A Photographer At A Wedding On December 29. What Should Be My Next Equipment Purchase?
I have a Nikon D50 with a 28-80 lens. I never got the wide angle lens. I’m trying to decide between a faster lens or a flash and flash bracket. Here are the two lenses I am looking at right now. http://www.wolfcamera.com/product/253091…http://www.wolfcamera.com/product/255111…
The first one has a maximum aperture of 2.8 at all focal ranges. I don’t know if the second one does.
So one of these lenses or a flash and flash bracket to use with my 28-80? I’m on a tight budget or else I’d buy both!
Wedding Photographer Dilemma – Please Help Me!?
Long story short, my photographer has now canceled on me TWICE for my engagement sitting. My wedding is 4 months away. I just don’t feel he is professional and I cannot stand him. I don’t want him at my wedding and I don’t want to deal with him. Of course, I signed a contract stating that I “agree to accept no refund for the products or services..” blah blah blah. Who would think they would have problems like this with their photographer. I need to call him today and want to be professional about it and kindly tell him I no longer want to work with him, please give me my money back or else I will take you to small claims court. But then again, I’m afraid that won’t work and I’ll have to have this horrible photographer at my wedding that takes BAD pictures cause he doesn’t like me and I don’t like him… I could really use some advice on this one. I’m at a loss for words….
PLEASE HELP.
