…………of the way you see life, on your last day alive, what would you photograph and leave behind as a symbol of your perspective on life?? Just curious about some of you souls…

I have a life times worth of family photographs, picture slides, negatives, video camera recorded tapes, and video tapes!!!!
All to be transferred onto CD or DVDs
Any advice would be gratefully received!
I am planning to go out and buy a new lap top, and need to get everything else to go with it. So if you were setting up for the first time what would you recommend????
Easy to work – I am not blonde, I am a silver surfer, so need EASY to understand and deal with equipment.

The lens is this one: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/97… and I bought a 350D Canon body, (mistake thinking it would cost less instead I’ve waited and spent forever looking for a lens to go on it ) anyways, I purchased it thinking hell it can’t be that bad and I purchased at lower price from Amazon for 57 dollars instead of 80 from a store just as reputable as B&H so no worries there. Regardless, I was curious if anyone that has or does own this lens opinions, usefulness, longevity, etc.

This is a side hobby I decided to start, my main photos will be of landscape but can range to just about anything that interests me, I don’t have a very good eye for detail that is with taking pictures, but I’m working on it

So I am wanting to surprise a friend of mine with a basic home studio and I don’t know very much about what is needed to do this.
What add on would I need to put on the camera to make the umbrella lights go off? (It is an Olympus Evolt SLR)
Is it better to get umbrellas that are activated without wires?

If I were to buy umbrellas similar to these, and had an add on to the camera, as well as a backdrop…is there anything else really needed for a basic home studio? Any links for products and suggestions would be so appreciated!

I am a beginner, amateur photographer who is looking to make his first purchase of a DSLR. I have done some research on the available cameras in the market and have come up with some options for myself namely: 1) Sony A350; 2) Sony A700K; 3) Nikon D90; 4) Nikon D70 and; 5) Canon EOS Series.
I understand that most reviews will name the Nikon D40 as the best choice for beginners but another factor influencing my purchase is usability over a long period of time. Thus, I will need a camera which allows me to use a variety of compatible lenses and accessories over a period of time. Also, I feel that the D40′s relatively low MP resolution will not serve me well enough for my future endeavours.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I’m currently leaning towards Sony’s as I’m comfortable with their user-friendly products and their built-in-body image stabilisers and up-and-coming range of lenses. But I am willing to hear out cases for other cameras as well as other brands i.e. Pentax, Minolta, Olympus.
