What Camera Would You Reccomend?

I have a Canon PowerShot right now. I’ve had it for about a year and a half, and I’m looking to buy a Digital SLR camera from Best Buy, preferably Canon.
Here are some of my pictures taken with my point and shoot camera:http://www.flickr.com/photos/40761517@N0…
This is a camera I’ve had my eye on for a long time but it’s a bit expensive for me…http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?…
Can any professional or experienced photographers reccomend a Canon digital SLR camera for me within $700?

What Kind Of Sd Or Sdhc Card Should I Buy For My New Nikon D40?

I just bought a brand new Nikon D40 DSLR. I’m new to slr photography and I’m just looking for an advanced photographers advice. I’m just wondering what kind of memory card I should get. I saw this one at WalMart, but not sure if it’s alright to buy? http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d…
I think it’s a cheap version, but I’ve never used that kind so I’m not sure what it’s like.
What do you recommend? Thank you to all who will help me.
Thanks =]

What Do You Think Of This Canon Combination?

I am brand new to the world of DSLRs, having been in the world of normal digital photography for a few years. I have come into some money and thought I would finally splash out on a DSLR – but I want it to last the rest of my life, I’m unlikely to be able to afford going to another one! Although I may increase my lens collection. I photograph macro and wildlife (eg. deer, birds). Here’s the combination I came up with:
Canon 400D body
Canon EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 USM
Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM macro lens
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8
Hama tripod star 700 EF digital
Have I made any enormous mistakes here? Anyone have experience with this kit? I’d be really grateful for your help, as this is unchartered territory for me and I want to get it right first time. I’d like really sharp, proffesional-looking results.

What Is The Best Camera For Photography?!?

I am a photographer who is trying to get into event shooting. Weddings, parties, babies, kids, engagements, stuff like that. I would like to spend around $500. I know I want it to have a quick shutter speed, the camera I have now is sooo slow I always miss the shot :( . The big requirements for me is that it has high resolution, quality images and is quick, I don’t want to start charging people and then give them crappy pictures, you know. I do like a manual zoom, but it is’nt a requirement. Also, I want digital. I have read reviews up the wazoo, but they can be extremely persuasive. I would just like to know what other photographers are using and love. I am soo afraid to spend that amount of money and end up hating the product. Any ideas? And please don’t respond if you are just going to say the latest camera you heard about, please be an actual user and know something about camera’s :)

I’m A Photography Student, What Type Of Dslr Should I Get For My Major?

I am new to the photography field, just started school for it. I haven’t made my decision if I want to be a photographer for regular photography (wedding or such) or being a professional photographer to be a photojournalist or something of the sort.
My semester will start soon and I am looking for a DSLR camera that can do the job but also not to expensive since I am a starter. I have been suggested by my friends to get a Nikon D80 and I think I kinda like it, but is there any other cameras that can be compared to this one that might perhaps be even cheaper? I am planning to spend about $1000 altogether, the camera and the accessories, since I’m strapped for cash because of the economy. So, can any one kindly suggest me any DSLR that can be compared to Nikon D80?
Oh, and please don’t just say the product name, but tell me if you have any experience or not with the camera you are suggesting.
Thank you very much.
