We have a Canon PowerShot Elph and we can get pretty decent pics but the shutter lag is a pain. And since it’s 4 years old I’m guessing there is some better technology now….What’s a step up for us in the digital world but not into SLRs?

I’m 13 years old and I really want a semi-professional camera. The thing is my parents are not going to spend more than about $350. I don’t want a little regular silver or pink digital camera like most teens have. I want one kind of like the professionals have but not as expensive and as fancy. I’ll list some ideas I had below but I’m not sure if they are good I need some expert advice or at least advice from someone who has that camera and knows what they’re talking about.

For our a Language Fair project, one of the categories is to enter a photograph of anything that looks ancient-Roman-ish. But with today’s new buildings, transportation, and streets, barely anything looks Roman. Plus, I don’t live in the countryside or anything, so I can’t do a rural scene. What’s something in today’s world that would fit into the lives of the Romans?

Mine’s of me, my brother, and my 2 older cousins doing some failing attempt at the Can-Can. I was maybe 10 or 11. We were all laughing having a good time. This was before they drank alcohol, God knows what they do now. Old photographs make me smile. You freeze a happy moment in your life and remember it forever.

but i want something more serious that takes better pictures but i dont want one that is reallllly exspensive.
any ideas?
