If you don’t want to spend too much money (more than what you paid for that Fujifilm camera), why don’t you get a used film camera, i.e. a 35 mm manual camera, and learn photography the right way, by controling the camera, a.k.a. setting all the controls yourself.
Otherwise the cheapest dSLR is about $500 or so. A point and shoot is too ‘automatic’.

If you want to be serious photographer, you should try using a DSLR. Point and shoot cameras (the compact ones) will only limit you since they are usually automatic. The cheapest DSLR I know is about USD450.00 (the last time I checked). I won’t suggest that you buy a point and shoot camera with manual functions (sometimes referred to as “bridge” cameras). There’s little price difference between the price of these cameras with a DSLR so might as well go with the entry level DSLR.
If you do get a DSLR, take a Basic Photography Workshop. That will do you much good. You’ll also be amazed at the things your DSLR can do for you.

Even though they say it is not the camera but the person behind the camera that take pictures, still you need a good tool to start with. If I were you, I would start with an entry level Digital Single Lens Reflex. Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Olympus, Sony, Panasonic, and others make excellent cameras. You are 14 years old and I assume that you don’t have a lot of money to throw on equipment. So I will not suggest a film camera. Of course you can get a used high quality 35 mm SLR camera very cheap but because of the cost of film and processing, and waiting to see the result, you will end up taking less and less pictures. My first choice would be a Nikon D40 for less than $500. Read about it here.http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/d40.htm
When you are ready to buy, go to a big camera store and try a few DSLR cameras in your hands in this price range and see which one feels more comfortable to you.
    Good luck.
