Where Do You Go For Portraits?

I am just wondering, when you go to a portrait studio, which one do you go to and why?
Is it all about the products? (Digital or film) or the photographer? The price? The poses and props? What stands out?
Now obviously the studio managers in the big chains (like Sears, WalMart, etc) cant change major things like prices per sheet and what not, but what things would make you come in more often?
:)

I’m a pro photographer, I have my own studio, but if I didn’t, this is how I would do things.
It depends on the budget. I’ve worked for a few of the major retail studios before and know what their pricing is for certian products. So if I needed standard portraits in mass quantities I would find a coupon and head to a retail studio. If I wanted something artsy and money isn’t an option, I’d go to an individual with their own studio.
