The 30D is heavier, sturdier, and has a few more capabilities.  One of which is the capability to shoot 5 frames per second, rather than 3fpson the XTi.  The 30D is more of a semi-pro camera, the Rebel, more of a consumer product.  Don&#039;t let the 8Mpix vs 10Mpix confuse you.  The 30D is the superior camera.
either camera can easily take that photo... if the right person is standing behind the camera. (that&#039;d be you)
