Why Do People Ask About Selling Product Here And Not The Service?

don’t most photographers that make a living from it or at least some money make it by being hired to provide the service of taking/making picture’s for someone else?
very few like say anne geddes make money by selling product? most that make money do it by selling a service?
does anyone get what im ranting about?
how wrong am i?

    because people who know nothing about photography don’t see value in the intangible talent of a professional artist.

    Why people ask? Uhm I would guess because they have a ton of pictures lying around and figure they might be worth selling. Unfortunately they rarely consider how difficult it is to sell photographs compared to selling your skills. Well a handful of people can actually make ends meet by selling the product rather than the service but they really are the exception rather than the rule. Unfortunately, as usually happens with the more enlightening questions on here, most of the people who’ll read this question already know that.

    I get your point but, shoot, why would you want to know how wrong you are? :} (on a scale of one to ten, you’re an eleven, you pick which is good or bad).
    I’m not a pro photog, though I do sell a few things here and there, still, the one thing that I learned for making money from service is, that you do it with a smile and say eat cheese later.

  • Plumbers and podiatrists provide a service, that’s not romantic.
    Selling art and photos is cool!
    I know what you are saying. I definitely get it. Service is everything.
